UAE Visit Visa 2025: Earn, Sponsor, Travel.

By   Peninah Mbula  | The Common Pulse/latest news/UAE/US/Iran/ Kenya/Abroad/Africa / September 2025.

The UAE has introduced significant updates to its visit visa regulations for 2025, aiming to streamline the visa process and attract global talent. One of the most notable changes is the implementation of minimum salary requirements for residents wishing to sponsor family members or friends. These updates are part of the UAE's broader initiative to modernize its entry permit system and support economic diversification.

Minimum Salary Requirements for Sponsorship

To sponsor visitors in the UAE, residents must meet specific income thresholds based on the relationship with the visitor:

  • Immediate Family Members (e.g., spouse, children, parents): A minimum monthly salary of AED 4,000 is required.

  • Second- or Third-Degree Relatives (e.g., siblings, cousins): A minimum monthly salary of AED 8,000 is required.

  • Friends and Other Non-Relatives: A minimum monthly salary of AED 15,000 is required.

These income requirements ensure that sponsors have the financial means to support their visitors during their stay in the UAE.

Duration and Extension of Visit Visas

The UAE offers various visit visa durations to accommodate different purposes of visit:

  • Short-Term Visit Visa: Typically valid for 30 days.

  • Long-Term Visit Visa: Can be extended for up to 90 days.

Extensions are subject to approval by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) and may require additional documentation.

Key Requirements for Sponsorship Applications

To successfully sponsor a visitor, residents must provide the following:

  • Proof of Income: Recent salary slips or bank statements to verify the minimum income requirement.

  • Accommodation Details: Proof of residence in the UAE, such as a tenancy contract or property ownership documents.

  • Medical Insurance: Valid health insurance coverage for the visitor during their stay.

  • Relationship Proof: Documents establishing the relationship with the visitor (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate).

  • Passport Copy: A clear copy of the sponsor's passport and Emirates ID.

It's essential to ensure all documents are up-to-date and meet the ICP's specifications to avoid delays in the application process.

The UAE's updated visit visa regulations for 2025 aim to balance the facilitation of family reunification with the assurance of financial responsibility. By meeting the specified income requirements and providing the necessary documentation, residents can successfully sponsor their family members or friends to visit the UAE. These changes also align with the country's broader goals of economic diversification and attracting skilled professionals.

He has led through the Cold War, the rise of mobile phones, the internet revolution, and the African Continental Free Trade Area — all while aging behind the walls of Etoudi Palace. He is rarely seen in public, often ruling from abroad;  mostly Swit...
